The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party (also known by many their initials as SDWLP, as well as being known by some as the Social Democratic Party just only occasionally and widely known simply as Social Democrats) is a Chawosaurian social-democratic party founded in August 2017 originally as the Social Democratic Labour Party to represent and advance the political ideology, social democracy, an ideology that gained attention in the late 2010s because it was prominently advocated for by U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders as he unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Democratic Party's nominations for President of the United States twice in 2016 and 2020, losing these Democratic nominations to Hillary Clinton (2016) and Joe Biden (2020), respectively. The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party was founded by George Windsor III to honor the legacy of his grandfather George Windsor (1930-2020). The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party is the spring off of the Social Democratic Labour Party of Chawosauria, the left-wing counterpart and successor to the right-wing Coalition Party as the new anti-communist alternative to the Chawallian Communist Party. Today, since 2020, the Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party is part of the 2020-2029 Chawosaurian Opposition against the Communist Party administration of Supreme Leader Shang Jong Parker. The SDWLP is the parliamentary opposition that holds minorities in both the Imperial Assembly of the Chawopolis Palace and the Federal Assembly of the Continent Union, both chambers are under the control of Communist Party supermajorities.
The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party was founded in August 2017 as the successor to the more centrist Social Democratic Labour Party of Chawosauria by George Windsor III, the grandson of the leader of the Social Democratic Labour Party of Chawosauria George Windsor (1930-2020) who led the last social democratic party from forming it in 1977 until it collapsed in the 2015 Chawosaurian legislative elections. The SDWLP serves as the reincarnation of that social democratic party of George Windsor in order to honor his legacy of fighting to advance a social democracy, although it was already done a century back under the premiership of Garfield Lucas Webster, the SDWLP seeks to fight to maintain and expand beyond Websterianism, which is now being advocated by Sydney Lucas Webster, Garfield Webster's grandson. In the 2017 Chawosaurian elections, the SDWLP gained decision-making roles in the 24th Chawopolis Palace after winning 171 seats in the 2017 Chawosaurian legislative elections, where the SDWLP played an instrumental role in advancing the First Arsenals of Socialism agenda of Supreme Leader Degotoga K. Atagulkalu, who wasn't part of the party but the SDWLP served as the confidence and supply for Supreme Leader Degotoga K. Atagulkalu's coalition government. When Degotoga K. Atagulkalu died in March 2019 while in office, the coalition government of DKA collapsed and the SDWLP forged a green-red alliance with the Grassroots Democratic People's Green Party, an alliance known as the Social Democratic-Green Party Alliance (SDGPA), with new Supreme Leader Ekewaka Mikala Kalawai'a, part of the last social democratic party and now the newer one, becomes head of the SDGPA, thus creating a minority government in 2019. A minority government that the SDGPA government was short of 501 seats needed for a majority, but they had the most seats in the Chawopolis Palace.
The SDGPA minority government of Supreme Leader Ekewaka M. Kalawai'a collapsed brutally hard on its face in the 2019 Chawosaurian elections. The Chawosaurian Communist Party led by former Prime Minister Shang Jong Parker unseated Supreme Leader Kalawai'a in the 2019 Chawosaurian direct election by a landslide margin, which is a rare occurrence in Chawosauria for a national incumbent to lose in a landslide, and swept the Chawopolis Palace with a supermajority of 893-107 in the 2019 Chawosaurian legislative elections, as well as continental governments across Chawosauria. The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party was the only non-communist party to successfully avoid getting wiped out, dodging the fate of the last social democratic party from the 2015 Chawosaurian legislative elections. By being the only anti-communist party to stand against a very large Communist Party government of Shang Jong Parker, the SDWLP transitions to become the leading opposition party of the whole 2020-2029 Chawosaurian Opposition, but due to the SDWLP and the Communist Party both share a goal of achieving a socialist society, but disagree on how to achieve it, the SDWLP decided to take a pragmatic approach to the governing Communist Party, working closely with the Communist Party on issues such as tackling the COVID-19 threat, climate change, and institutional racism; and the SDWLP successfully convinced the ruling Communist Party to continue democratization and constitutional reform that begun under the SDWLP's minority government from 2019. The SDWLP's bipartisan approach to the ruling Communists has caused a revolt against them from the anti-socialist wing of the 2020-2029 Chawosaurian Opposition, which left anti-socialists feeling backstabbed by the same party whose job as the leading opposition party with the most prominence compared to other opposition parties is to confront the communist government but instead that leading opposition party is letting the communists walk away free from accountability, and the SDWLP are increasingly being seen as just way too compromise-minded, corrupted, intellectually weak or naïve, gullible, establishment-minded or actually part of such, and the SDWLP was accused of being secret communists disguised as anti-communists designed to disenfranchise and silence the anti-communist opposition. Sydney Lucas Webster overtook the entire SDWLP and won election as Chawosaurian Leader of the Opposition in the 2021 Chawosaurian Opposition leadership election, and the anti-socialist oppositionists formed the Chawosaurian Revolutionary Party to challenge both the Chawosaurian Communist Party and the Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party, starting with the 2024 Chawosaurian midterm elections.
The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party advocates for a social democracy, advocating for values such as democracy including democratizing the economy and industries through state interventionism. The SDWLP supports the Nordic model, and a Keynesian approach to an economic meltdown and the redistribution of income to benefit all in a society, including the poor prominently through universal access to healthcare, education, childcare, elderlycare, including through social welfare initiatives. The SDWLP seeks a participatory democracy, fair trade, labor rights, secularism, strong labor unions, and in some cases a mixed economy. The SDWLP supports the labor movement and labor rights such as workers' compensation, collective bargaining, and a right to form a union, advocating for a living wage, family leave, and a workplace democracy.
Because the Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party is a Chawosaurian political party, it must still adapt to Chawosaurian domestic issues. The most prominent Chawosaurian domestic issue is the status of religious freedom in the Chawosaurian world. Chawosauria has a bad history of religious freedom in their world, though while the fact that Chawosauria is an overwhelmingly irreligious world shouldn't shine a bad light on irreligious people in general, but it should be noted that the relationship between Irreligious Chawosaurians and Religious Chawosaurians has been very complicated. When the Chawallian Communist Party overtook Chawosauria fully in the 1980s, all religions were outlawed and the Chawosaurian government openly and proudly encouraged discrimination against Religious Chawosaurians. Chawosauria's hatred of religion goes far back to the colonial age when for example, the slaughter of indigenous peoples were in the name of Christianity, shining a negative light on Christianity and the entire concept of religion in the eyes of the Chawosaurian world. Acutely aware of widespread anti-religious sentiment in Chawosauria, the Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party, who like any other social democratic party, is supposed to support social justice no matter where, feels comfortable enough to cautiously takes a preferred neutral stance on the rights of Religious Chawosaurians mainly out of fear that calling out Chawosauria's systemic discrimination against Religious Chawosaurians will harm the party's electability with Chawosaurian voters.
The Social Democrats are known for this tendency to be a selfish and opportunistic party in pursuit for power, which is typical for any political party in the world but the way they execute this partisan opportunism for influence is that they ally with ruling parties and then betray them when they become less essential to their goals, which is what happened to the Grassroots Democratic People's Green Party, a Chawosaurian green party who were negotiated by the Social Democrats into forming the Social Democratic-Green Party Alliance with them when the anti-communists had control of the Chawosaurian imperial government back in 2019, but when the Chawosaurian Communist Party stormed back into power in the 2019 Chawosaurian elections, the Social Democrats dumped the Greens after their caucus was entirely wiped out by communist candidates in the 2019 Chawosaurian legislative elections, with the Social Democrats being the only anti-communist party to largely surviving communist challenges though they still lost a minority of their seats. Into the 2020s, the Social Democrats formed the Socialist Coalition with the same Chawosaurian Communist Party that moderately wounded them in February 2022 after two years of working closely with the Communist Party-led government on issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and democratization, but alienated the anti-socialist parties in the 2020-2029 Chawosaurian Opposition that the Social Democrats are supposed to lead as the only opposition party with representation in government.
Since January 1, 2020, and as of 2023, the Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party has no control of any branch of government in Chawosauria but they hold an opposition trifecta, controlling the office of Leader of the Opposition and weak minorities of seats in both the Imperial Assembly of the Chawopolis Palace and the Federal Assembly of the Continent Union. Starting in March 1, 2022, the Social Democrats gained influence over the legislative branch of the Chawosaurian imperial government through the Socialist Coalition with the Chawosaurian Communist Party.

The earliest writings of socialism is the doctrine of "utopian socialism", and socialism was never just one ideology, it is a range of ideas equally dedicated to the goal of achieving a socialist society, but divided on how to achieve it and how to approach it. Social Democracy is socialism that accepts democracy, advocates for human rights, including establishing a human right to healthcare, education, housing, childcare, elderly care, and a command economy to achieve such goals. Communism is socialism that in theory is anarchistic but in practice very authoritarian, they oppose democracy, they advocate for an overly-centralized government, and does have fascistic characteristics and instincts.

The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party's principle ideology is social democracy. The Social Democrats, as the party is also called, are staunchly loyal to Chawosauria's labor union ruling class that have been in political power since the Prime Ministership of Garfield Lucas Webster back in the 1910s. The Social Democrats, along with the Chawosaurian Communist Party, promised to fight to preserve Chawosauria's labor union establishment, which earned them heavy resources from the labor unions of Chawosauria, making the Social Democrats a pretty powerful party. The Social Democrats, as does the Communist Party, enforce the political dominance of Chawosaurian labor unions, who have a mafia characteristic, the Social Democrats act as a protection firm or part of the protection firm as mafias had the tendency to do.
