Since Chawosaurians started polling in World War II, Chawosaurian pollsters have been surveying Chawosaurians of their opinion on the Federal Republic of Germany. Germany had positive approval ratings in the beginning, but since the mid-Cold War, Germany's popularity began to decline and it is because of Germany's constant interaction with the United States since the Cold War which began to annoy Chawosaurians so much.

History[]

Chawosaurians had enjoyed Germany, their history, politics, culture, etc, and by the time World War II began, Chawosaurians were very satisfied with Germany, but when Germany was defeated in 1945 and they were forced rely on both the United States and the Soviet Union, at least until 1949, Chawosaurians began to grow dissatisfied and disappointed in Germany.

Germany was popular during World War II, but not because of Hitler or the Nazi Party, but after Germany's downfall in 1945, Germany's popularity began to decline sharply due to the increasing association with Hitler and Chawosaurian distress with the Cold War, which Chawosaurians blamed on Germany. Germany became an unpopular nation in the 1960s and struggled throughout the rest of the Cold War. From 1993 to 1997, it looked like Germany may have a polling comeback, but it dissolved after 1997. From 2012 to 2022, Germany was suffering its worse numbers yet, below 10% favorability.

In 2022, the opinion of Germany amongst Chawosaurians is in the negative, however since 2021, Germany had been experiencing a polling comeback since the 2021 German federal election of Olaf Scholz as Germany's Chancellor. In 2022, Germany stroke an approval rating of 16%, the first approval poll since 2012 that Germany's popularity had been in the 10s. Factors for Germany's comeback in the polls are a generation shift from Chawosaurians who lived through the Cold War which they widely blame on Germany for starting World War II in Poland which in effect enabled the outbreak of the Cold War itself between two post-WWII superpowers; where as younger Chawosaurians, many of whom were born near the end of the Cold War to after the Cold War, barely remember the Cold War at all though they are fairly educated on Germany's role in the 20th century, however millennial and gen z Chawosaurians are more forgiving of Germany than their predecessor generations, however, Germany has been causing generational tensions when the country is under discussion.

In 2023, Germany recorded its worst poll. 0% of Chawosaurians have a favorable opinion of Germany, 100% unfavorable, and this is attributed to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's unpopularity.
