Political structure of the Empire of Chawosauria
In the Politics of Chawosauria, Chawosauria is a cosmocratic unitary state that is ruled by a tetracemeral legislature colluded by an Absolute Monarch (Emperor, Empress, Dictator, Supreme Leader, etc). Chawosauria is a multipartisan state, allowing multiple Political Parties to have representation in government. Chawosauria is also primarily a socialist state because of the Premiership of Garfield Lucas Webster in the 1910s over a century ago.
Shang Jong Parker is the current Supreme Leader of the Empire of Chawosauria since January 1, 2020, after his election on October 4, 2019, over incumbent Supreme Leader Ekewaka Mikala Kalawai'a in a landslide margin of 80% of the vote to the 15% of the vote that went to Ekewaka Kalawai'a. The current ruling political party is the Chawosaurian Communist Party since the 2019 Chawosaurian elections, and the party had been in office since January 1, 2020.
Chawosauria has three branches of government; the executive branch headed by the Supreme Leader of the Empire of Chawosauria currently held by Shang Jong Parker, along with the President of the Empire of Chawosauria held by Francisco Dionisio Rousseff, and the Prime Minister of the Empire of Chawosauria currently held by Jonathan Lachlan MacAlasdair VIII; Chawosauria's two more branches are the national legislature with two houses, the Parliament which is divided by three subhouses, the Houses of Commons, Lords, and Representatives, and then competing with the Parliament, the Senate which has no divisions.

The Chawopolis Palace is the National Capitol Building where laws and referendums are passed. It is the meeting place of Chawosaurian Elected Officials. There are multiple chambers of the palace including:
Executive Branch
The executive branch of the Empire of Chawosauria is divided into three offices: the Supreme Leader of the Empire of Chawosauria, which is the top of the three offices; the second most powerful office has become the President of the Empire of Chawosauria, and then the Prime Minister of the Empire of Chawosauria.
Supreme Leader of the Empire of Chawosauria
Since January 1, 2020, Shang Jong Parker is the incumbent Supreme Leader of the Empire of Chawosauria.
The Supreme Leader is the monarch of the Empire of Chawosauria, Chawosauria's ultimate head of state, and the sole commander-in-chief of the Chawosaurian Imperial Army. The Supreme Leader is elected by popular vote in the Chawosaurian direct election, an electoral college does exist, but they're needed only just to settle a popular vote tie and nothing else.
The current Supreme Leader since January 1, 2020, is Shang Jong Parker. Shang Parker's resume involves his previous service as Prime Minister of the Empire of Chawosauria from January 1, 1990, till his term expired on December 31, 1999, and that was back when the Prime Minister was the second most powerful position in the executive branch after the Supreme Leader. Shang Parker is a member of the Chawosaurian Communist Party, and as a Communist, he was elected Supreme Leader in the 2019 Chawosaurian direct election in a landslide victory over another Supreme Leader that he will succeed, Ekewaka Mikala Kalawai'a, in a margin of 80% of the popular vote to Kalawai'a's 15%.
There are no term limits, but the term of the Supreme Leader is a decade, a Supreme Leader's term always begins on January 1st at 12:00 AM, and after a decade of service, that term expires on December 31st at 11:59 PM, in every time zone globally. When a Supreme Leader either resigns, retires, or even dies in office, a monarchical selection is ordered by the executive to select a replacement. The most recent Supreme Leader who died in office was Degotoga K. Atagulkalu on March 3, 2019, easily known by his initials as DKA, and after DKA's death, an immediate 2019 Chawosaurian monarchical selection was held by the House of Dynasties in the Chawopolis Palace, where Ekewaka Kalawai'a was selected as DKA's successor, from March 3, 2019, until December 31, 2019, Ekewaka Kalawai'a, also known by his initials as EMK, reigned Chawosauria until he was voted out of office in October 2019.
President of the Empire of Chawosauria
The President of the Empire of Chawosauria is the second powerful position in the executive branch after the Supreme Leader. The President's term is five years, and there are no term limits. The current President is Francisco Dionisio Rousseff. Rousseff has been President since January 1, 2020, as a member of the Chawosaurian Communist Party since his landslide election to the Presidency.
The President of the Empire of Chawosauria was originally elected through the United States Electoral College, but mass reforms were implemented to switch to a Chawosauria-wide national popular vote system. The powers and responsibilities of the President involve representing the Supreme Leader of the Empire of Chawosauria, enforce the orders, laws, and policies of the Supreme Leader as Head of Law Enforcement of the Empire of Chawosauria, and present the agenda of the Supreme Leader. The President is also in charge of foreign delegations representing Chawosauria.
Prime Minister of the Empire of Chawosauria
The Prime Minister of the Empire of Chawosauria, once the second powerful position of the executive, is now the third powerful position of the executive after the President. A Chawosauria that has both a President and a Prime Minister would have Chawosauria classified as a semi-presidential state. The current Prime Minister is Jezebel Isela Boleslaus, but she is serving a so-called Interim Term, which means Boleslaus is serving to finish a term her predecessor vacated the day he resigned due to impeachment proceedings, in order for Boleslaus to have her very own term, she must win over 50.1% of the popular vote in the 2024 Chawosaurian legislative elections rather her party: the Communist Party, wins a majority of seats or not.
The powers and responsibilities of the Prime Minister involve leading her party in the national legislature of the Empire of Chawosauria, which is located in the Chawopolis Palace, a place in Chawopolis City where the executive and supreme court are also located. The Prime Minister oversees pieces of legislation being debated on and voted on, and the Prime Minister sends a passed-bill to the Supreme Leader to sign into law, sending the bill to the Supreme Leader by signature approval known in Chawosauria as "stamp-approval". If the Prime Minister refuses to stamp-approves a bill to the Supreme Leader, the Imperial Legislature votes to either override the Prime Minister's veto, a simple majority is needed (501 votes). If the Prime Minister's veto is overridden, then the bill is send to the Supreme Leader against the Prime Minister's objection and decides to either sign it or veto it. If the Supreme Leader vetoes a bill, it cannot be overridden, the bill immediately dies if vetoed by a Supreme Leader.
The Prime Minister is elected by 50.1% of the national popular vote in a Chawosaurian Legislative Election regardless if the Prime Minister's party wins a majority or falls short, this type of election system is meant to democratize a parliament system to prevent one-party tyranny sometimes seen in parliamentary states seen in Hungary under Viktor Orban and recently seen in Canada where Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, sharply escaped accountability over the SNC-Lavalin scandal.
There is no order of succession for the Prime Minister, nor there is a process in place to safely replace a Prime Minister, that was revealed when Garfield Lucas Webster caught the flu during the 1918 flu pandemic. Webster's flu diagnosis caused intense fears that Webster could die in office, which never happens before in Chawosaurian history, and had that happened, an order of succession crisis would occur if Webster died with no nominated successor. When Jonathan Sidney MacCarthy III was facing impeachment proceedings in early 2020, Supreme Leader Shang Jong Parker acted quickly to nominate a successor for MacCarthy before he is removed from office without a successor in place, which would have triggered a succession crisis.
Legislative Branch
The Imperial Legislature of the Empire of Chawosauria is located in the Chawopolis Palace, which is and still is the personal residence of the Chawosaurian Monarchy. The Chawopolis Palace is the headquarters of the Chawosaurian Imperial Government in the city of Chawopolis.
Imperial Senate of the Empire of Chawosauria
The Imperial Senate is the upper house of the Imperial Legislature. The Imperial Senate takes up whatever was passed by the Imperial Parliament (legislation, articles of impeachment, war declarations, resolutions, etc), and debate and vote to either approve or block them and if approved, send them to the executive branch for approval. Senators are directly elected by their constituents.
Imperial Parliament of the Empire of Chawosauria
The Imperial Parliament is the lower house of the Imperial Legislature but divided into three subhouses, the House of Commons, the House of Lords, and the House of Representatives. The purpose of a divided lower house is to make legislating hard, but legislation, articles of impeachment, war declarations, resolutions, etc, are introduced by either a single MP (a member of parliament) or a group of MPs, their introduction must be approved by each committee of all the House of Commons, Lords, and Representatives, before each house votes to approve them, and be send to the Imperial Senate.

Judicial Branch
To deal with civil suits, criminal cases, and deal with laws deemed by its opponents as unconstitutional, there is a judiciary to deal with those cases. The judiciary is divided into the Supreme Court of the Empire of Chawosauria, which is Communist Party ruled, and then Continental Federal Courts, Regional Courts, and then Metropal and Municipal Courts.
Supreme Court of the Empire of Chawosauria
The Supreme Court of the Empire of Chawosauria is the highest court in the Chawosaurian world, they check both the Imperial Executive and the Imperial Legislative branches of the Imperial Government, while the executive and the legislature can too check the Supreme Court (this is known as checks and balances).
The Supreme Court takes up cases originally decided by a Continental Federal Court, if they decide to agree to hear the case, they'll hear the case, hear oral arguments, and decide its fate in a few days or months, or a year in some cases because there are other cases to deal with.
When the case is decided by the Supreme Court, it becomes the law of the entire Empire of Chawosauria.
Continental Federal Republic Courts
The six Federal Courts of the Continent Union takes up cases originally decided by a Regional Cantonal Court, and like the Supreme Court of the Empire of Chawosauria, if a Federal Court decides to hear oral arguments, they will schedule a date on which the case will be decided due to dealing with other cases. When a Continental Federal Court decides a case, it becomes the law of the Continental Federal Republic.
Federal Government of the Continent Union
The Federal Assembly of the Continent Union is the national legislature of the Continent Union. The 1st Federal Assembly was elected in the 2019 Continent Union federal election, and its ruling party is the Chawosaurian Communist Party. There are 6,000 total seats in the Federal Assembly, with 5,132 Communists to 868 Social Democrats, both left-wing parties, were elected. The Federal Chancellor of the Continent Union is Genghis K.Q. Taizong, and he is part of the six Chancellors of six Continental Federal Republics, and each Continental Federal Republic has a unicameral Continental Reichstags with 1,000 seats total, and all Reichstags are part of the Federal Assembly. The next election is the 2024 Continent Union federal election.
The Dominant Party
The Dominant Party (in Chawosaurian politics) is a political party that has unified control of the Chawopolis Palace, both the monarchy and the imperial legislature.
Monarchical Party
The Monarchical Party is a political party, in Chawosaurian politics, that controls the monarchy.
Opposition Party or Coalition
The Opposition Party (or Coalition) is a party or a multi-party coalition that is opposed to the Supreme Leader.
History of Democracy in Chawosauria
Democracy arrived to Chawosauria in 1899. The monarchy was democratized to be elected by the people of Chawosauria rather than being appointed by blood. Chawosauria still having a monarch instead of a president is a compromise for Chawosauria to keep their tradition of having a monarchy, which Chawosaurians felt is part of their heritage, leading to rising support for monarchism, so the democratizing of the monarchy is to set a common ground between monarchist sentiment among Chawosaurians and democratists who want Chawosauria to be a democracy.
Chawosauria held their first elections in 1899, electing their Supreme Leader in the 1899 Chawosaurian direct election and a British political party: the Conservative Party, in the 1899 Chawosaurian legislative elections.
Role of Elections
Elections are very democratic in Chawosauria. The election for the monarchy is a direct election, leaving to the term Chawosaurian direct election. Before Shang Jong Parker, Chawosaurian direct elections were only called when a Supreme Leader has to retire or has died. Elections for the Chawopolis Palace are legislative elections, where they were called before the 2019 Electoral Reform Package, six to four years, for example, the 2005 Chawosaurian legislative elections were held followed the previous six years earlier, then four years later the 2009 Chawosaurian legislative elections were held, then it would repeat. Now Chawopolis Palace elections are held every five years. The election for the monarchy is held every ten years.
