In Chawosaurian Politics, the Leader of the Opposition is basically the person who leads the (most of the time) popular and (sometimes) partisan opposition against the Supreme Leader of the Empire of Chawosauria. Also known as the Opposition Leader, the only powers the Opposition Leader has is recruiting candidates, and sometimes parties to defeat the Supreme Leader's party. The Supreme Leader is "the Supreme Leader of the Majority" and the contrast between a Supreme Leader and an Opposition Leader is that the Supreme Leader has overwhelming power to govern the country, while the Opposition Leader has far less power except to recruit candidates and parties to try and defeat the Supreme Leader's ruling party. The Leader of the Opposition run for the Monarchy against the Supreme Leader the Opposition Leader is resisting.
The Opposition Leader is elected by popular vote in an Opposition Leadership Election. Like the Supreme Leader, there are no term length nor term limits for the Opposition Leader.

The term "leader of the opposition" was originated from the British version of a leader of the opposition. Under British political standards, the Leader of the Opposition is the leader of the largest minority party, while under Chawosaurian standards, the leader of the opposition is the prominent leader of the opposition regardless of the size of his or her party.
