The 2011 Chawosaurian monarchical selection was held on Saturday, May 14, 2011, to replace the deceased Supreme Leader Timothy Max Roosevelt.
After the death of Timothy Max Roosevelt on May 13, 2011, the House of Dynasties has selected Antonio Kingston as Timothy's successor. This is the first time since 1850, the House of Dynasties had the authority to determine the successor of a deceased monarch.
Prime Minister Jonathan Dragan Boleslaus IX was also offered the job but he turned it down.
Background
Timothy Max Roosevelt was the dictator of Chawosauria from his popular election in the 1975 Chawosaurian direct election.
Timothy Max Roosevelt ruled as dictator from 1976, and then he passed away on May 13, 2011. Timothy Roosevelt's passing resulted in an emergency monarchical selection to replace him.
Process
A monarchical selection is when the House of Dynasties orders certain citizens by the limited number they choose or prefer to have with the task of voting for a replacement of a monarch whose term ended unexpectedly either caused by death, impeachment, and removal, retirement, or even resignation.
In this process in 2011, Timothy Max Roosevelt died in office, and although he already named a successor, Timothy Max Roosevelt II, the government objected it although it is in Roosevelt's will. The government refused to fulfill the will because of anti-nepotism sentiment, and fears by moderates from both social democrats and communists that Timothy II would be too extreme or just as worse as his father.

Antonio Kingston unexpectedly won the electoral vote, winning 535 electoral votes to Timothy Max Roosevelt II's 532 votes.
Aftermath
Timothy Max Roosevelt II was angry. Antonio Kingston was elected as the new Supreme Leader and he went on to rule Chawosauria for four years from 2011 until his own death in 2015.
